Dear Junior Infants,
Welcome to Sport's Week! As we're missing 'sport's day' this year, we have decided to put together some activities you can do at home for sport's week instead! Each day will mainly be sports/ active challenges, with one extra non-sports daily activity on Aladdin. It will be sent out as usual but if you find it easier to follow on the website (including great videos that Mr. Keddy, Mr. Enright and Ms. Keddy made), here it is: http://www.newtownprimary.ie/sports-week.html. We hope you have fun with these challenges and we'd LOVE to see photos or videos of your attempts, so feel free to send them to us, we would be DELIGHTED to hear from you!
We really hope you are enjoying getting out a bit more and seeing people you have been missing, since the restrictions eased a bit. Ms. Leahy saw her brother for the first time since January, which was very exciting! We also hope you enjoyed our virtual school tour last week. We know it's not as good as the real thing but hopefully you had some fun with it! What was your favourite animal to watch? Ms. McGillycuddy loved the giraffes and Ms. Leahy's favourite were the penguins!!
We are delighted to let you know that the amazing whole-school art project 'Le Chéile, Óna Chéile' has been finished and is now displayed in five different shops and businesses around Newtown; see the website homepage for the very impressive photos. Well done to everyone who contributed and we hope you enjoy seeing our school art around the town. Even if you didn't get a chance to take part in this project, it can still remind you that you are a very important part of our school community and that we are here for one another.
Ms. Leahy has another piece of very exciting news... the cygnets that she told you about a few weeks ago have hatched! How many can you spot in the picture?
As we near the end of the school year, if there's any more news you'd like to send in, please do! We would love to hear it and I'm sure your class friends would love to hear from you too!
It is so lovely to be writing this while sunshine is streaming through the windows. We are so blessed in so many ways; we hope this week you can get out, get active and be thankful for all God's blessings.
We want to wish CONOR a big huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Have fun on Friday! :-)
Le gach deá ghuí,
Ms. Leahy & Ms. McGillycuddy
