We wanted to come up with ideas that would be good for children’s mental health. Some of the ideas were dancing, yoga and meditation for the whole school. The Student Council wrote the letter. Three weeks later we found out we won. Only 4 other schools in Wicklow won the €150. We were all delighted.
We won a €150 Dundrum voucher. We all decided to buy lego for the whole school. So Ms.Hurley went into Dundrum and bought lego. Then we decided to make a lego club out of it. First of all we wrote a note to each teacher in the school to see if they wanted to take part in the lego club. Then we made a timetable where all the fourteen Student Council members each had at least five classes. Fifteen teachers took part in the lego club for the month of June. Each class that took part had their own day and time for the month of June.
We divided the lego into plastic bags so each child has their own bag of lego. We had boxes of lego as well just in case. The student Council members jobs were to communicate and give out the bags of lego to each child and make sure they are happy. This is our third week of doing the lego club. Its an honour being on the Student Council and doing the lego club.
