I'm back!!! I can't believe that pesky pup of mine hijacked the Blog last Thursday, I should have known she was up to something when she was being so quiet and wasn't following me.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed that sunshine on Saturday, I'm not sure where the sun has gone to since, it's been quite windy and cloudy the last few days. Hopefully we'll see it back soon, but at least it's not raining so we can get out and do some of those Biodiversity activities this week.
Did you enjoy Indie's Blog? She was wondering if any of you drew a picture of your favourite place? My nephew Keelan saw the Blog and he drew a picture and sent it to Indie. He is 7 yrs old and he's in 1st class in Ennis, Co. Clare. Can you find Ennis on your map of Ireland? It's quite far from Wicklow so we haven't been able to see Keelan in a while, we're looking forward to seeing him when it's safe to do so.

This is the picture Keelan drew for Indie of his favourite place. It's a games room in a hotel near where he lives.
It has been lovely to hear from so many of you. I bumped into Kacey and her family when Indie and I went for our walk the other day. Well, we didn't actually "bump' into each other, we kept our distance but it was lovely to see her. And I've heard so much about what so many of you are up to. I know Emma S is working away on a 1000 piece puzzle, Adam, Sam and Lauren have all been baking, Mai-Ly made an indoor obstacle course in her house, John celebrated his birthday as best he could, Oisín has been doing lots of work in the garden, Mollie is working on an invention with her sister, so many of you are keeping so busy and are learning so much in the activities you are doing, it's wonderful to hear all about it.
Don't forget May is Biodiversity month so keep an eye on the 'Outdoor activities' section of the school website under the 'Covid 19' tab for some easy things to do while you are out and about. You can send pictures or drawings of your findings to c19@parentsupport@newtownprimary.ie with the subject 'outdoor activities'.
How about a Biodiversity themed challenge today:
Creative Challenge: Draw a picture or write your own poem inspired by one of the poems on www.newtownprimary.ie/outdoor-activities.
Kindness Challenge: Do a random act of kindness for someone today. (I experienced a random act of kindness today. A parcel arrived for me in the post today, Ms Gannon from our school sent me a book she thought I would enjoy reading, and a bar of chocolate to eat while I'm reading it). Wasn't that so very kind and thoughtful of her? It made me feel so happy that she thought of me. Can you think of something kind you could do for someone today?
Word Challenge: How many words can you make using the letters from BIODIVERSITY? What is the longest word you can find? You may mix the letters around.
Good luck with today's challenges Rang a Cúig,
Take care, Stay Safe and Stay Active,
And remember... Be KIND to one another,
Ms Cheevers
