Good Morning Rang a Cúig,
I hope you enjoyed Wonder by Emile Sandé yesterday. Isn't it a beautiful song?
The weather seems to have taken a bit of a turn overnight, I know it rained here last night and maybe it rained where you are too. That is probably a good thing for our gardens and at least it was overnight and not during the day. It's still very windy today though, and that is where my "Did You Know?" comes in.
Did You Know... that following a survey of four pets, I have discovered that the wind has a different effect on different animals? I am basing this on my own experience over the last 12 hours. To start with your friend Indie is scared of the wind when she goes to bed in the kitchen at night. She puts on the most scared and sad looking face and makes her big brown eyes look even more sad and tries to convince me that she should not have to stay in the kitchen. Even when I leave her there she scratches at the door, and cries, and barks in the hopes and I have to get up and settle her down several times until she finally goes to sleep. It is so hard to resist those eyes!

Then there's Pip! Well, the wind drives Pip CRAZY! Right now she is running around the house like a 4 year old in Kidzone who has eaten too much sugar. She gets a bold face and wild eyes, she even just tried to knock a tub of her cat biscuits over so that she could have a little feast for herself, she soon stopped when Indie started giving out to her. The wind makes her hyper and there is no stopping her, we just have to let her keeping going until her batteries run out. Look at that bold face!
Finally there are the other two, Ruben is not a fan of the wind at all since he got blown off the fence a few years ago and broke his jaw. The saying that "cats always land on their feet" would apparently not be true! Anyway since then Ruben prefers to stay in his bed and sleep until the wind has passed. Ruben has a tiger teddy in his bed that he snuggles up to while he's sleeping. We're not supposed to tell anyone about this as he likes to think he is the cool cat on the block, but I think it's pretty sweet that he has his teddy that he loves so much. He's had it since he was a kitten and he loves it very much. Here he is with his tiger teddy, clearly not happy because I've woken him up and told you his secret. Sorry Ruben! As for Lola, she just likes to sit on the window ledge and watch the wind blowing outside. She's a pretty chilled cat, she's fine about the wind as long as she doesn't have to go outside in it. Lola loves the outdoors, from the indoors. The window ledge she sits on gives her a perfect view of the road, but there is also a part of the roof outside where the birds land so she can watch them coming and going too. |
So there you have it, a snapshot of life with four pets and a blustery day! How do your pets react with the wind or other weather? Indie thinks the minute the sunshines that she should have her ball to play with, but she gets so obsessed with it we can't give it to her all the time because she drives us mad to throw it for her.
I hope this wind dies down and that we have a calmer and sunnier weekend, although we've been so lucky with the weather so far, we shouldn't complain too much. What plans do you have for the weekend? Remember if you are playing with your friends, to continue keeping your social distance.
Next week we are going to combine our History and English and take a look at World War I.
I'll also be setting you a new project topic, which I think you will all enjoy but I'm going to leave you guessing what it is over the weekend. You know how much I enjoy a good Cliffhanger!
In the meantime, here are some brainteasers for you to figure out with your family, answers on Monday.
