Dear Second Class,
I hope you are all feeling positive and staying safe during our school closure. I know things are a bit strange and confusing at the moment. It's really hard to stay at home all the time and to be away from friends and family. I really miss visiting my parents and I miss coming to school and seeing all of you. I just wanted to check in with you and let you know that I am thinking about you and hoping that you are ‘being the best you can be’ at home.
If there's one thing that you should try to do every day it's some reading. I know it's tempting to spend the days on phones and tablets but try your best to get some fresh air and exercise too. Remember this is a tricky time for parents too, so do your best to help out at home by keeping your room tidy and helping with jobs around the house or garden.
I will be sending some school work for you to do at home after Easter. If you are finding it hard, don’t worry, just let someone know and they can contact me. I will try my very best to help you. I hope to see some of your lovely work on the ‘Our Work’ page of our school website. I would also love to read some of your news, stories and book reviews on the ‘Newsletter’ page on the website.
We don’t know yet when we will be back to school but I can’t wait to see you all again. I know you were disappointed not to be able to make your Confession after all our practicing. Just remember, none of that was wasted time. Making your Confession and your Communion is all about the time and thought that goes into the preparation, not just the day itself. I am so proud of all your hard work so far.
Until we can see each other again, let’s all do our bit to stay safe and healthy. Keep washing your hands, stay at home and remember the rules of social distancing.
Best wishes,
Ms Monahan 😊
