Hello First Class,
I hope this email finds you well.
I’m sure, like me, you are missing school and I just wanted to let you know I am proud of you all!
It is really hard not being able to see your friends and some members of your family, but it is very important that we follow the HSE guidelines by keeping our distance for a while. I know you are doing a great job! I just wanted to check in with you and let you know that I am thinking about you and hoping that you are ‘being the best you can be’ at home.
Please continue to wash your hands carefully. Don’t forget to catch your sneezes and coughs in tissues and dispose of them. If you have no tissue, then the crook of your elbow is the next best thing.
I am wondering if you managed to do any of the suggested activities in your ‘Just in Case’ booklets. I have been doing a lot of baking and baked Saint Patrick’s Day ‘Raspberry and Apple Crumble’ muffins. (They were eaten in a nanosecond!).
Are you all still reading lots of books? I wonder if you are still writing stories and making colourful ‘Marc Chagall inspired’ drawings, I hope so! I’m spending lots of time with my two kittens (Sally and Noggin). I might turn into a ‘Crazy Cat Lady’! They escaped this morning. Noggin climbed to the very top of a tree in our neighbour’s garden and my sister clambered to the top step on a stepladder to coax him down. It was funny!
I’m sure you’ve played some board games and I’m confident a few of you are too! I can picture some of you dancing round your gardens and I know everyone is being read to either online or by parents or older siblings. Whatever you are doing, try to have busy times during your day. Start each day with a reason to be grateful just like we do in First Class. Don’t forget to exercise and sing (you know how I LOVE singing!)
I will be sending home some school work for you to do at home after Easter. If you are finding it hard, let someone know. They can contact me and I will try my very best to help you. You can make contact with me through my school email: [email protected]. I hope to see some of your lovely work on the ‘Our Work’ page of our school website. I also look forward to reading your news, stories and book reviews in the ‘Newsletter’ page on the website.
We don’t know yet when we will be back to school, but myself and Spencer Bear can’t wait to see you all again! We can only do what we can do. We can ALL continue to do the three important things recommended by the HSE. Remember our first Class motto….'teamwork makes the dream work’ so if we all do our little bit, the job gets done! Keep it up!
Ms Quinn
